BorWin3 - Another step towards the energy turnaround

The refrigeration and ventilation technology for the BorWin3 converter station (onshore connection for several offshore wind farms) built on the site of the Emden/Ost substation was completely constructed and installed by HANSA. The total capacity of the high-voltage direct current connection BorWin3 and the connected offshore wind farms is 900 megawatts, which are supplied to the substation via a total of 160 km of sea and underground cables.

HANSA scope of supply: 21 mainly weatherproof units in industrial quality, color-matched to the buildings, for the ventilation of the plant building, as well as the converter and throttling halls with a total air capacity of over 350,000 m³/h. The installation of the air ducts and refrigeration technology round off the overall service provided by HANSA.
